Quilts were a welcome reprieve for me at the start of 2020, when all the world tucked away inside during the pandemic. Feeling a lost sense of connection to my first grade students, I found solace in quilting as a way to meditate, create, and ease my stress from time online.
Once school returned to normal in-person learning, I created more quilts with my students. Some of them were auctioned as part of our school fundraiser. Currently, I'm exploring ways to incorporate math learning and more into quilting with students.
